Hey Lightsquad!
While I am preplanning my 2020 I thought about this one very big false belief –
I’ve done enough personal development l. Now I can stop.
And this always makes me laugh. Because just because you did the work doesn’t mean you’re just miraculously protected from anything or anyone not serving in the world.
No.
Just let me give you an example, you might relate to better:
Imagine your goal was to loose 15 pounds over the last 6 months.
You therefore changed your nutrition, ate a bit under your calories burned per day and you managed to loose that 15 pounds in 5 months.
You now think, hey I reached my goal, I’ve done enough of the nutrition change, now let me get to my old behavior.
And there you are eating Mc Donalds or even seemingly healthy nut butter spreads en masse.
3 months later you feel your jeans twitching again.
THE SHOCK: the 15 pounds are back.
Shit! You all know what it’s called the Yo-yo-Effect.
So yes, there is a Yo-yo-Effect in personal development as well.
By skipping the routines you worked so hard building, you lose that priming hour of the day, get influenced by external opinions/wishes/actions.
You’re not in alignment with yourself, but with what the external influences present to you.
Like a cycle it will influence your inner beliefs if repetition happens often enough and can end in starting at a lower point than you’ve even began with.
That’s NOT what you originally wanted.
So, let me tell you this one truth:
Personal development doesn’t stop, once you embark on this journey, you only get further or keep your current level, by doing at least what brought you there in the first place or more for an upgrade.
Standing still is the culprit of personal development, of any development.
I hope you understand your responsibility in this.
And now tell us:
