Hey Lightsquad,
I thought some of you might identify with this a lot, so I wanted to write a post that encourages you from moving from scepticism to openmindedness.
Sceptics take longer to manifest success
Let’s break that down for a second.
How do sceptics behave?
Sceptics are generally quite closed of towards new ideas.
Yes, they might go outside and listen to them, even truly gauge the information and perception of another person, but they always stick to what they know, because that’s what they trust.
So, sceptics also mistrust people. However plausible the information might sound, they make it their point to find something implausible within the external world view.
That leads us to sceptics always think they are more right than others, because if they were truly trusting, they would admit to being at fault and embracing ideas that didn’t fit their perception in the past.
Sceptics like to stay in their comfort zone, because that’s what makes them feel accomplished and gives them a motivation boost.
They always find flaw and this means they think in a worst-case scenario.
What is funny about this is that sceptics project their interior feelings about themselves into the exterior. Because not trusting anyone, does mean not trusting themselves.
This means, they are generally also very risk averse. And people who don’t take risks and don’t leave their comfort zones, don’t grow.
How do I know all of this?
I was a sceptic. I still am, a small portion of scepticism also isn’t so bad.
But what if scepticism holds you back so much that you don’t make progress?
Because scepticism is truly only a derivate of fear. Fear of the unknown.
Woah, doesn’t sound amazing, does it?
So how do you transform that?
Ok, so the first step of any change is being aware of what is not working for you.
Let me ask you these questions:
How does it feel to live the same day all over again?
How does it feel to dismiss everyone’s ideas?
How are you growing?
Is that growth significant and fast enough for you?
Do you secretly wish more from your life?
Are the outcomes of risky situations desirable to you?
Become aware of your current repeating set of thoughts. Embrace the emotions you have.
Because bringing emotions and thought to your awareness essentially put you in a place where you can let them go 🙂
Next step:
Whenever you talk to someone or see a new opportunity/experience, set the intention to be open-minded, actively listen and ask more questions.
Ask yourself: What info do I need for me to feel less fearful and more trusting?
Next step:
Be aware of your feelings towards everything that is said. If they carry worry or fear, that’s ok. But think rational for a second.
What outcomes could you achieve if you would take this opportunity?
What would you miss if you don’t take this opportunity?
Honestly, what is the worst that could happen?
And then on the contrary what is the best that could happen?
And then take that best-case scenario and just try it out.
Say to yourself, I trust in my abilities, I want growth, I want expansion, I want abundance.
And even if I fall down on my ass, at least I tried it and have had a valuable experience for future decisions.
Scepticism holds us back from so many beautiful things that make us grow and expand faster.
The more failures you get, the faster you are put on the right track again.
Because ultimately nothing is a failure. This is all just a huge learning process.
And I want you to get further faster than you are now with this scepticism victim mentality 🙂
But before I finish this post, I want to touch a part that is crucial to understand!
Scepticism vs. Intuition
Sometimes we get suspicious, because of a bad feeling we get.
Please, don’t discard this feeling.
But try to discern if that bad feeling is coming from a fear that’s expansive or contracting.
What do I mean by that?
We actually know exactly when something is too good to be true or smells foul, that’s our emotional guidance system and it always tells us if something is for us or not in this current moment.
Fear can be broken down into 2 aspects.
Fear that feels just daunting or fear that’s protective.
If you aren’t sure try to find synonyms of how you are currently feeling to distinguish which fear you actually feel.
If it’s protective in regards to life-threatening or just plain not feeling good and making you feel blocked, worried, nauseous, don’t do what your fear regards.
But if it feels exciting, overwhelming, a bit like butterflies, heart-pumping, this is growth-oriented fear and you just gotta take action and get passed it to grow.
And you can do this! Just think about which people have done it before you and how they live prosperous and wealthy now 🙂
If you feel like, omg, I am such a sceptic and I want to grow faster, I deserve more, but I don’t know exactly how and need a push and would love to have someone support me right now.
