No-Go’s when having gastritis – What to avoid at all costs

Having a gastritis already puts enough pressure on the body on its own. In order to support the body with its healing process, here are some no-go’s to avoid.

Absolute No-Go’s concerning food

  • no extremes, meaning not too salty, spicy, fatty, sugary, too restrictive
  • digestion starts in the mouth, no hastiness while eating
  • big meals, less frequent
  • hard to digest food, like raw hard vegetables or nuts
  • intolerable food
  • no cured meats
  • not drinking enough water or tea
  • drinks with caffeine or sparkling and soft drinks
fresh-produce
fast-food


Absolute No-Go’s concerning lifestyle

  • any amount of physical or psychological stress
  • sleep deprivation
  • smoking
  • drinking alcohol
  • some medication
  • not listening to the body
  • not seeing a doctor

This is just a short list of reminders. It’s helpful for acute phases of gastritis.
