Hey guys,
I know I know, it’s getting colder and everything from ice-cream to smoothie bowls are kind of reserved for the summer. But I’m an advocate for eating whatever your gut feels like eating and I’ve been known for eating soups in summer and ice-cream in winter 😀
So, today, I’d like to share with you my favourite smoothie bowl recipe.
I have had a hard time eating enough greens, especially in raw form, because of my stomach issues. As you know, in order to hit enough calories with nutrient dense foods, we have to eat large volumes. Weak stomachs should be filled cautiously every few hours, so the stomach acid doesn’t contribute to the inflammation and the stomach is able to digest small portions properly.
I figured, shredding nutritious foods into fine particles like smoothies or porridges makes this process easier for my body and I can hit my macros and micros.
And no, you can’t taste the greens at all!

- 2 bananas
- 7/200 oz/gr spinach, frozen
- 1 tsp green mix (spirulina, barley grass, wheat grass, chlorella)
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1-2 tbsp pumpkin seed protein optional
- 1 tsp inulin optional
- splash (plantbased) milk or water
-
Break the bananas into little pieces and put those in your blender. I use an emulsion blender for this.
-
Add the powders and the liquid.
-
Blend until the texture is runny.
-
Add frozen spinach piece by piece and blend until incorporated well. I use 4 50gr squares and blend in each individually.
-
Pour into a bowl and add desired toppings. I always use blueberries, another fruit, cocoa nibs, mulberries, goji berries and hemp seeds. Sometimes I add powdered aronia berry powder and coconut flakes too. Add whatever your heart desires!
I'll link all the specific products I use below 🙂 Bon Appetit!
I am all about good quality when it comes to nutrition. That’s why I decided to show you which products I personally use or recommend (due to market availability). I, by no means, want to pressure you into buying these. But I research thoroughly where and how the products were made, if the price is adequate for the quality etc. Of course, often there is more than one great product. Then I usually buy the cheapest out of them 😀
