Hey Lightsquad,
maybe you are a workaholic just like me or maybe you just are overwhelmed by the daily tasks. And you never truly pause.
We have been conditioned to work hours from 9-5 and after that tend to needs of our families and friends.
And often in the midst of all the chaos, we forget ourselves.
This is why I want to present 3 short exercises you can do throughout the day that endure an overall balance.
Do them as often as you can, you don’t need anything besides yourself.
Let’s get into it!
THREE SHORT EXERCISES TO DESTRESS
1. Meditate
Instead of doing meditation only in the morning, why don’t you do a short 3-minute meditation right from your desk, in public transport or outdoors in nature or if you don’t feel comfortable doing it surrounded by people, just locate your next bathroom.
Close your eyes.
Breathe in and out.
Focus on your breath.
Focus on the rise and fall of your belly.
Imagine your thoughts as moving cars on a 4-way intersection.
Just observe, without judgement.
Do this as long as you want, but 3 minutes absolutely suffice.
Slowly get back to focusing on your breath, on the sounds that surround you and then open you eyes.
And there you have it, a little pause. A short meditation you can do from literally anywhere!
2. Breathe
What is the one thing that makes us truly alive?
Yes, our breath. It’s the first act we do when coming into this world as babies and signals we’re born.
Lots of us don’t breathe correctly because of our lifestyles.
We block our lungs through our posture, restricting closing, eating foods that restrict proper oxygen circulation throughout or body.
So yes, breathing can alleviate pain, help you recover from a panic attack and calm down from heavy emotions.
There are a million breathing exercises out there.
I actually already wrote about Pika-Pika-Breathing HERE.
But I want to give you another one to pause.
As I was going out with my bestie on new year’s eve, she got agitated by the fireworks and this calmed her down in less than a minute.
So 3-5 of this breathing exercise will already suffice. But do it as long as you want!
Here it comes:
The 4-4-4 breath aka Box Breathing.
It’s very simple, you just got to
inhale for a count of 4,
hold for a count of 4,
exhale for a count of 4,
hold for a count of 4.
And repeat.
Let me know how you feel afterwards. Just send me a quick dm to @vam_po.
There’s also a post coming today, that you can save and access if you want to breath without concentrating on the counting 🙂
3. Acupressure
This is something not a lot people know about and it’s a practice from TCM (traditional Chinese medicine).
Basically what you do is to take your thumb and pointing finger from your right hand and massage the area between your thumb and pointing finger on the left hand.

It acts calmingly on the nervous system.
And this point is also connected to your digestive system.
Just massage that point for a minute and then reverse.
Massage the same point on your right hand for a minute.
You are probably going to feel a lot of tension there.
This is a good thing as you will let go of that pressure in your hand and all connected areas in your body.
Also let me know how you feel after doing this.
Just like with both other exercises, you can do this as often as you’d like throughout your day to regain balance and just take a pause.
So, let me know how you liked these 3 exercises and how you feel after them by sending me a dm on insta @vam_po .
